The standard result — and your odds of doing better.
Mutations aren't a separate breeding formula. Every egg gets one extra roll: a small chance to hatch as something rarer than the pair's normal result. This page shows you both halves at once.

Cake comparison
Which cake actually moves the odds?
Only one cake changes your mutation chance. The rest affect stat potential, passive inheritance, or how many eggs you get per cycle.
| Cake | What it actually does | Mutation chance |
|---|---|---|
| Cake | Baseline. 1% chance per egg of a mutated result. | 1% |
| Mushroom Cake | Slightly raises hidden stat potential. Mutation odds unchanged. | 1% |
| Vegetable Cake | Lays two eggs instead of one, doubling your rolls per cycle. Mutation odds unchanged per egg. | 1% |
| Extravagant Vegetable Cake | Meaningfully raises both mutation odds and stat potential. | 3% |
| Special Cake | Raises the odds that a parent's passive skills carry over. Mutation odds unchanged. | 1% |
What a mutated egg guarantees
- A notably rarer / stronger pal than the pair's standard result
- Guaranteed Alpha size
- Condensation Level 2 on hatch
- 4 passive skills, at least two Tier 4
- One guaranteed mutation-exclusive passive skill
Mutation-exclusive passives
These five passives can only ever appear on a mutated egg — you won't find them any other way:
Babysitter
Heavily Armored
Idiosyncratic
Immortality
Skymarcher
Hatchlog doesn't fabricate a per-pair "mutation result" species — the community hasn't mapped every mutated outcome with full confidence, and a wrong guess here could cost you a rare cake. Treat the standard formula result as your floor, and the mutation roll as a bonus on top of it.
